2022 Yarra Valley, Victoria - Sangiovese 

LOOK: Bright ruby red with vibrant crimson edges

SMELL: Fresh raspberries, ripe red plums and fruit jubes with subtle savoury undertones.

TASTE: A bright fruit bomb with fresh raspberry and ripe red plum flavours, balanced by gentle tannins and slight savoury elements that give it compleity

PERFECT WITH: Italian dishes, pizza, pasta with tomato-based sauces, grilled chicken or charcuterie boards

JOSEPHINE'S NOTES: I thoroughly enjoyed making this wine! It's definitely an Australian style of Sangiovese - a beautiful blend of bright fruit and those slight savoury elements that make it so interesting.  This wine was matured in a giant egg (ask Josephine for details!) which gives it a unique character.  It's vibrant, approachable and shows what happens when you take an Italian variety and let it express itself in the Yarra Valley. Perfect for when you want something bright and joyful with just enough complexity to keep you interested!
