Kallista General Store & Cellars has been part of the Dandenong Ranges since the late 1920s. Over the years, it’s changed hands, changed shape, and welcomed generations of locals and visitors through its doors. Today, under the care of winemaker Josephine, it’s a place where you can pick up your everyday staples, discover something delicious and unexpected, and always be greeted like an old friend.

The Full Circle Story

Full Circle Wines began as a side project and quickly became a signature.

Long before she was running the store, Josephine was making wine, learning the rhythms of the vineyard, the patience of the cellar, and the joy of sharing a bottle you’ve crafted yourself.

Made from local grapes, every wine in the range reflects the place it comes from and the people who help bring it to life.

The final touch is a hand-poured wax seal, a ritual Josephine often shares with her kids, turning each bottle into something truly personal.

From bright, fresh whites to deep, generous reds, Full Circle Wines is about more than what’s in the glass.

It’s about moments around the table, conversations that linger, and raising a glass to the simple pleasure of good wine.

Our Story

The Kallista General Store has been part of the fabric of village life since the late 1920s.

Back then, it was the place to collect your mail, grab the paper, and pick up the essentials you couldn’t make yourself. Over the decades, it’s seen many owners and many changes, but one thing has stayed the same: it’s always been more than just a shop.

In 2016, winemaker Josephine and her sister-in-law Liz took the reins. Together, they breathed new life into the store, keeping its old-school charm but curating it with a fresh eye for gourmet food, deli goods, and exceptional wine. They tapped into Kallista’s love of quality, niche products, from Yarra Valley cheese to specialty chocolates from Dubai, and built strong relationships with local growers, makers, and winemakers.

The store quickly became a hub for the community. Space was shared with the CFA, the local primary school, and countless groups who needed a place to gather. Antiques and treasures, loaned by locals“because they just fit here, ”found their way onto shelves and into corners. Regular customers popped in for their usual coffee, always greeted by name.

When Liz passed away, Josephine continued as sole owner, supported by a loyal team that includes her kids. Her warmth, knowledge, and love for what she does infuse every part of the store, from the handpicked pantry staples to the bottles of her own Full Circle Wines, each finished with a distinctive wax seal poured by hand (often with help from her kids).

Today, the Kallista General Store & Cellars is still that place where everyone’s welcome. Whether you’re a local, a regular weekender, or a curious tourist passing through, you’ll find something special, and leave with more than you came for.
